Matt grew up in the community where he serves. He has a Ph.D. in Adult Education and founded two Centers for Fathers and Families in California and Arkansas before returning home to design Moving Forward Safe Place during his days as minister for the Carbondale Church of Christ locally.

 After receiving services for three years, Stephanie began volunteering and decided she wanted to give back to others. Stephanie is a trauma survivor as a child, from domestic violence, and addiction. She has experienced the loss of a home to fire and had been unhoused for 3 years. Her training in Trauma Informed Support helps her connect with and refer guests toward the area where they can best be served.

Mark has decades of experience in Youth Ministry, Small Groups, New Member ministry and Worship ministry in Texas and Oklahoma. He has experience forming and leading Celebrate Recovery type groups and leads daytime and evening groups in addition to his duties managing the Resale Shop next door.
